Robert “Bob” A. Blankenship, 72 of Lancaster passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2024 at his residence after a courageous battle with ALS. Bob was born on August 15, 1951 in Moneta, Virginia to the late Laymond and Rachel Blankenship. He retired from Kroger Bakery in Columbus after 35 years of service. Bob was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to deer hunt, fish, and kayaking. He was very dedicated to his church, but most of all he loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Sandra; sons, Robert (Melissa) Blankenship and Kevin (Cathy) Blankenship; daughter, Ashlee (Matt) Davis; grandchildren, Zakery Blankenship, Morgan Blankenship, Alexis Blankenship; step-grandchildren, Abby Craiglow, Kendall Craiglow, Ethan Davis and Tyler Davis; great-granddaughter, Elyanah Rae Blankenship; siblings, Wayne Blankenship, Betty Amos, Francis Davis, Susie Sloan, Allen Blankenship, Rocky Blankenship, Connie Bowman, Patsy English, and James Blankenship; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Linda Rigney.
A Celebration of Bob’s Life will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2024 at 12PM at the HALTEMAN-FETT & DYER FUNERAL HOME. Dignity Cremation is to take place through the funeral home.
