Richard E. Ruff, 89 of Lancaster passed away on Tuesday January 3, 2023 at the Pickering House. He was born on March 15, 1933 in Lancaster, Ohio to the late Harry Thomas Ruff and Charlotta Naomi Tripp Ruff. Richard graduated from Amanda in 1951, served in the United States Army during Korean Conflict. He worked for Diamond Power for 37 years, drove a school bus for Fairfield Union for many years and loved sports and horses.
Richard is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Goldie Ruff, son, Ronald (Shelley) Ruff, daughters, Gloria (Dave) Eschbaugh and Cindy Ruff; grandchildren, Kelcey (Sky) Wilson, Hilary (Kyle) Maxam, Joseph (Kortney) Eschbaugh, Kimberly (Casey) Hudson and Trey (Katlynn) Eschbaugh; nieces and nephews, beloved dog, Lacey.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 7 sisters and 1 brother.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday January 9, 2023 at the HALTEMAN-FETT & DYER FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Karen Martin Kepner officiating. Burial is to follow at Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call on Sunday from 2:00PM-4:00PM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Grace Lutheran Church-Colfax or Dumontville United Methodist Church or Pickering House.
