Raymond E. Miller died Friday February 5, 2021 at the age of 88. He was born to Floyd R. and Goldie Mae Shull Miller May 27, 1932 in Lancaster, Ohio. Raymond was a 1950 graduate of Lancaster High School, served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was with the Hesdq Center Division of the 382nd General Hospital at KangoKa Barracks south of OsaKa Japan where many Korean causalities were treated. Raymond worked 39 years for the Lancaster Post Office mostly as a window clerk. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Lancaster. He loved gardening, always had a nice lawn and spent many hours putting puzzles together. He was preceded in death by parents and wives, Marilyn Miller in 1978 and Janet E. Miller in 2019. Raymond is survived by his children, Julie (Tony) Kilbarger, Jane (Peter) Strader, Dr. Jill Schellhase (Doug Taylor) and Joan (Kevin) Stofflet; son, John (Maria) Schellhase; 12 grandchildren Adam (Lizzie) Taylor, Noah Taylor, Andy (Anne) Taylor, Anna Taylor, Kristin Stofflet, Jennifer Stofflet, James Schellhase, Alisha Schellhase, Matthew Schellhase, Shawn (Daisy) Kilbarger, Jessica Kilbarger, Timon Strader; one great grandchild, Nova; sister, JoAnn (Walter) Bader.
A private memorial will take place in the near future, with time and date to be determined in accordance with health and safety guidelines. In honor of Raymond and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 125 N. Eastwood Ave Lancaster, OH 43130.
