September 1, 1979.
Linda dedicated her life to serving her heavenly Father, her family, and the many friends she enjoyed spending time with and hosting. She was a woman of many talents, including sewing beautiful wedding dresses, helping her husband with design in his construction business, canning his many bushels of homegrown vegetables, creating beautiful wedding florals, teaching music at her church school, and cooking many delicious meals. Her pies brought smiles to many faces.
She and her husband answered God’s call to pastor a small church in Belize. While serving in this capacity, she came to love the people of Belize.
She courageously battled cancer, clinging to her heavenly Father’s hand through it all, in the midst of her grief. She fought so hard to be here for her family and we are so grateful for all of you that supported in her journey.
She was the best mother her children could ever ask for. She leaves behind 10 grandchildren, whom she loved beyond words and loving on them brought so much joy to her life.
Left to cherish her memory are, Judith (Wendell) Beachy, Alexander Moses Overholt, and John Martin Overholt II (Heidi). She also mourned the loss of infant daughter Gabrielle Hope, and infant son, Gabriel Lyndon. She is also survived by grandchildren Isabella, Sophia, Jackson, Elliott, & Jacqueline Beachy, Troy, John Martin Overholt III, Greyson, Miles, and Haley Overholt; by her mother Alta (Yoder) Troyer, and siblings, Judy (Tom) Wagler, Allen Troyer, Perry Troyer, Merle (April), and Amanda (James) Weaver. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Martin Overholt, and her father, Mose Troyer.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8pm December 7th at Emmanuel Mennonite Church in Amanda, Ohio. Her celebration of life will be held December 8th at 1:00 pm. If you so wish, wear purple in honor of her favorite color.
