Gene F. McClellan

Gene F. McClellan age 71 of Pleasantville, passed away, Monday, February 27, 2012 at Select Specialty Hospital in Zanesville. He was a retired employee at Anchor Hocking Glass where he served as President of A.F.G.W.U... Gene was a member of Pleasant Chapel Church of God, Lancaster. He and his wife of 49 years Ruth were foster parents and Gene was an avid bowler and camper and coached various sports for the youth.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by five children: Kathy (Geoff) Romano, Michelle (Jeff) Glenn, Shawn (Jackie) , Thomas and Kenny McClellan, many; grandchildren , great-grandchildren, a sister Virginia Hemmelspauch, a brother, Leroy (Jane) Mc Clellan, brother-in-law Richard Saffol, many nieces, nephews and an extended family to include over 100 foster children and their families, special friends; Janet Jenkins and Hughie Wemer . Gene will be missed by his little sidekick “Doby”.

Preceded in death by: a grandchild Chelsa Glenn, sisters and brothers; Viola Lester, Patty Blair, Kay Knolton, Faith and Dorothy McClellan, Marjorie Seymour, Samuel Jr. and Russell, and two infant siblings.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. , Saturday, March 3, 2012 at the Halteman-Fett & Dyer Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Hayes and Tobby Bullock officiating. Entombment will take place at Floral Hills Memory Gardens.

Friends may call 5-8 P.M. Friday and 10:00 A.M. until time of service Saturday at the funeral home.

The family suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society in Gene’s memory.
