

Floyd “Popeye” R. Henderson, 84 of Pleasantville, passed away Wednesday November 27, 2013. He was born July 15, 1929 in Hocking County to the late William Lavere and Ina Gay (Lewis) Henderson. Popeye worked for the Baltimore Paper Mill where his nickname was Pee-Wee. He loved Fishing and Trapping Turtles. He enjoyed many summers on the Muskingum River with family and friends.
Floyd is survived by his son Pete (Kathy) Henderson of Pleasantville, daughters, Mick (Jim) Shumaker of Pleasantville, Lou (Jeff) Brown of Lancaster; grandson whom he raised, Jason Henderson of Pleasantville; eight grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; brothers, Bill Henderson of Bremen, Clifton (Judy) Henderson of Amanda; sister, Margie Ledgett of Lancaster; many nieces and nephews; special friend and companion, Sharon Golden of Pleasantville.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Henderson; brothers, Eddie, Frances, Ray and Robert, sister, Gay Ackison.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday at HALTEMAN-FETT & DYER FUNERAL HOME with Chaplain Dean Queen officiating. Burial will follow in Hampson Cemetery, Pleasantville. Friends may visit Friday form 2-4 and 6-8p.m. at the funeral home.
