Betty A. (Holcomb) Bowman, 85 of Lancaster, passed away Saturday November 7, 2015. She was born on December 23, 1929 in Pleasantville, Ohio to the late Ray and Iva (Miller) Holcomb. She was a graduate of Pleasantville High School class of 1947. Betty was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She served in various ways, including teaching Sunday School and was a member of the United Methodist Women. She worked with her husband, Don, in the operation of the Bowman Egg Farm. Later she was employed by Lancaster Poultry and retired from Riviera Cabinets.
Survived by her children, daughters, Dana (Steven) Shouldis of Lancaster and Jill (Dorian) Richards of Carroll, son, Mark (Terri) Bowman of Pickerington; grandchildren, Abby Bowman, Melissa (Bryce) Burton, Alex Shouldis and Scott Shouldis; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald R. Bowman, and sister, Dorothy Kemmerer.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Cheryl Foulk officiating. Burial will follow at Hampson Cemetery, Pleasantville. Visitation will take place 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Halteman-Fett & Dyer Funeral Home and one hour Thursday before the service at the church.
Memorial contributions can be made to the First United Methodist Church/United Methodist Women, or First United Methodist Church/Second Saturday Ministry.
