With great sadness, we announce the sudden passing to Glory of our beloved Founder and Chancellor Dr. Verda Thompson today, March 9, 2023, at 1:49 pm, at AV Hospital in Lancaster, CA where she was being treated for some health complications. She was 86 years old.
Dr. Verda and her husband Tom founded the American Mission Teams, as well as King's Word Academy back in 1990 and 1991 respectively. They both worked tirelessly until their last breath, leaving a legacy and setting an example of service and great faith to generations to come.
Dr. T as many people knew her, lived every day in expectancy of the day she would get to see the Lord face to face. The day is today, and we are positive that she is now rejoicing with the Saints and singing praises to our God.
We will soon post the details of the Service of Celebration of Life in her honor.
"Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your Lord."
