Terry Allen Washington 59, of Oakland, California, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 9, 2017 at the Antelope Valley Care Center in Lancaster, California. Terry was born in Tulare, California to his parents Roosevelt Washington and Betty Jean Luke.
Terry was a graduate of Castlemont High School - Class of 1976. He was an intelligent and loving man who enjoyed serving others. He honorably served his country for 15 years as a highly decorated Staff Sergeant within the United States Army. Terry's primary military specialty was as a Man Portable Air Defense System Crewmember, with out-of-country tours to Korea and Germany.
Following Terry's military service, he served a rewarding 10-year career as a Federal Reserve Law Enforcement Officer in San Francisco, California. Terry was an avid sports fanatic, especially enjoyed watching his favorite teams the Oakland Raiders as well as the Golden State Warriors. Terry had a funny and humorous nature and he enjoyed making people laugh. He loved life, especially spending quality time with his wife and family.
Terry is survived by his loving wife Arlene Washington, his mother Betty Jean Luke and is preceded in death by his father Roosevelt Washington. Terry is also survived by his two sisters Penny Washington-Davis of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Darlisa Washington-Moore of Moreno Valley, California, Todd Washington of Oakland, California, Albert Washington of Australia, North South Wales, and is preceded in death by his brother John Washington of Lancaster, California. In addition, he is survived by his children, two daughters, Kobie Andry Washington of San Francisco, California, Terilyn Washington of Almeda, California, and is preceded in death by his son Corey Washington of Oakland, California. Terry also gained two step children, Jennifer Wright of Jacksonville, North Carolina, and Anthony Williams of Phoenix, Arizona.
Terry had a large loving family which included a host of nieces and nephews: Brianna, Brielle Davis, Journey, Treasure, Jordan Washington, Tiffany Washington-Black, Marissa, Elijah, Jonathan, Matthew, Richard, and Jonathan. In addition, Terry had many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other loving friends. He was truly loved by you all and many more. If anyone was mistakenly missed please charge it to our head and not our heart.
