Shelley Joy Cassingham

Our mom, Shelley Joy Cassingham, was brought into this world on July 10, 1976 in Lancaster, CA by her mother, Jayne Francis Gee and her father, Bradford Cassingham. In 1993, when Shelley was seventeen years old, Jayne married Ray Morris, who became one of the most important people throughout Shelley’s life.

On December 21, 2022, Shelley was met at heavens gates by her mother, Jayne and her grandmother, Gloria. Shelley leaves behind a loving family which includes her four children Desiree Jayne, Christopher James, Alexis Joy, and Matthew Jacob; her first grandchild, Shawn Daniel; her dad Ray, her brother James, her sister Jennifer and her work family at CCI.

Shelley was an LVN for over twenty years. She worked in the pain management field at UPM for seventeen years and then later moved on to work at California Correctional Institution for the last 6 years. Our mom had a personality that was larger than life. If you were lucky enough to know her, then you would know she had the mouth of a sailor, but she was the most selfless, giving and big-hearted person you would ever come across. Shelley enjoyed spending time with her grandson, shopping, crafting, talking about her kids and cooking, often cooking for her work family.

We are eternally grateful for the mother, sister, daughter and friend that Shelley was. This earth will never feel the same now that she is no longer here.

A funeral service for Shelley will be held Wednesday, January 18, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Joshua Memorial Park & Mortuary, 808 East Lancaster Blvd, Lancaster, CA 93535.
