Lloyd E. and Mabel H. Shuman at Maynard
Hospital and soon went home to join his two
older siblings, Carol and Sallie. In his
younger years he was active in Cub and Boy
Scouts. At an early age he showed an
interest in the automobile, and made many
fine drawings of cars both real and imaginary.
Mel had a good singing voice and the ability
to sing harmony off the top of his head. He
graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1966.
Mel served in the U. S. Army in southeast Asia
and came home to graduate from the University
of Washington with a BA in Accounting. He
worked for the Boeing Company until his move
\to Palmdale CA to work for Rockwell.
