Lawrence James Bruce passed away in his sleep on March 3rd, 2019, at his brothers' home. Larry was born on February 20th, 1974 to Patricia & Larry Bruce. He graduated from Desert Winds High School in 1992, and joined the California Conservation Corp. (CCC) where he fought forest fires. Later Larry joined the U.S. Navy where he served on the USS Duluth during Operation "Desert Storm" & Operation "Iraqi Freedom". He helped provide aide to the USS Cole after it was attacked. Larry continued his service in the U.S. Army seeing combat during 3 tours in Iraq. After Larry's military service, he attended the University of A.V. receiving a degree in Culinary Arts & Restaurant Mgmt. Larry was a true advocate for Veterans and their families, helping continually with Veteran benefits, and those that needed aid. Larry was an avid movie buff, and that's putting it lightly. He loved his family and lived for all of his nieces. Zuri, Addi, K.C., & Kira. Larry will be truly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his mother Pat Bruce-Harmon, brothers Christopher (wife Heasoon), Jason (wife Amanda), Ryan, and his four nieces. We will be celebrating Larry's life on Saturday, March 16th at Joshua Memorial @ 11:00 am. The address is 808 East Lancaster Blvd. There will be a viewing on Friday, March 15th from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm.
