John Charles Vermillion of California City age 71, passed away at his home with his family by his side, Thursday August 24, 2017 from Lung Cancer. He was born February 10, 1946 to John Clark and Ruth Elsie(Lewis) Vermillion in Fort Scott, Kansas.
He proudly served the US Navy from 1966-1969 as a Sonar Technician STG3 on the USS Kittiwake ARS13 and Navy Reserves 1969-1971. He worked as an Instrumentation-Electrician for US Borax, retiring in 2006 after 38 years.
Hit with Gold Fever, he joined prospecting clubs of the Antelope Valley and spent much of his free time digging in the dirt for Gold.
He is survived by his wife Vicki, of 37 years. Sister Ann (Bill) Weeks,
Son Charles, Daughters Jamie, Rebecca (Jason), Andrea. Grandsons Chace and Jakob Jones.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Marilyn Culp, brother James Vermillion.
John will be buried at the family cemetery, Virginia Cemetery,
Butler Missouri.
