John W. Harrington; Born in November of 1931 in Montana died, peacefully in December 2015, at the age of 84, in Lancaster, California from pneumonia and complications of liver cirrhosis. Served in the US Air Force in his early 20's married his sweetheart Mignon in 1955 and had 4 children. Worked for General Electric as an electronics engineer with the NASA Space Program: first with Atlas Missiles, then the Apollo Moon Landing Program, Skylab, and finally the Space Shuttle. He also worked for a while for Northrup Grumman on the B2 Stealth Bomber Program after retiring from GE. Enthusiastically supported his children's adventures through Scouting, Marching Band, ornamental horticulture , bee keeping, the US Naval Academy, and lots of cross-country travels.
Survived by brother, Michael Harrington of OR, sons Patrick and Gerald, daughters Kathleen and Rebecca,8 grandchildren , and 2 great granddaughters. Services will be held 11:00 am on Friday, January 15th 2016 at the Lancaster United Methodist Church. Burial to follow at Joshua Memorial Park and Mortuary, Lancaster.
