In Loving memory of a beloved Mother,Wife, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother. Born November 16, 1918 in Vintar Ilocos Norte in the Philippines. Passed away on April 25, 2012 in Lancaster, California. Dorothy's husband Pedro was a rancher during World War II, He was captured by the Japanese and never returned. Dorothy, being a very strong woman, raised her two sons as a single parent and was able to put both through school. She later married Rafael, an Army Sergeant Major and moved to Hawaii in the 60's. She worked at Fort DeRussy ( now known as Hale Koa) - an all service hotel, first class to all military personnel - as a housekeeper until her retirement in the late 70's. Rafael and Dorothy moved back to Pasuquin where Rafael later died. In the next few years, she met and married Leo Cabreros , her third husband and last companion. They moved back to Lancaster where she could be closer to her older son, Basilio. Suffering from Alzheimer's since late 90's, her last years were spent in the care of her husband, son and daughter-in-law. She died on April 25, 2012.
Dorothy is survived by her two sons, Basilio Failma and Rogelio Failma, their spouses ( Corazon and Arnolfa respectively) her husband Leo Cabreros 7 grandchildren ( Marie, John, Amy, Mary, George Nasr, Joey,Glen Bullock,Gigi, Roel , Tori and Ramel, Sally). 13 great- grandchildren ( Maya Maldonado, Victoria Maldonado, John Failma, Laura Failma, David Grill, Christina Habana ,Michael Nasr, Megan Nasr, Michael Kane, Nicole Kane, Andrew Failma, Anthony Failma, Andon Failma and Danny Failma, Peter Failma and two great-great-grandchildren ( Jacob Maldonado and James Beavers Jr.).
Proceeded in death by her parents Remigio and Elosai Agbunag and two husband's Pedro Failma and Rafael Aguda.
Viewing will be held on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at Joshua Memorial Park and Mortuary from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday , May 4, 2012 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Lancaster with Graveside services to follow at Joshua Memorial Park and Mortuary.
