Our Red Hat Lady member of the Desert Darlings, Lancaster, will always be remembered for her beautiful smile and joyous attitude.  I remember her being a part of the trio "Bernie, Belva, and Annette".  Members of our Red Hat Chapter, members of the Central Christian Church, and for Bernie being the driver to all the events that the Chapter ladies enjoyed.  I remember her driving her car with the ladies, following me to Tehachapi to a big Red Hat get-together with a lot of other chapters at the Mourning Cloak Ranch & Botanical Gardens in Tehachapi.  We got lost from the lead car & ended up half way down the hill toward Bakersfield, finally got turned around, but had a heck of a time finding the Old Town Road in Tehachapi.  None the less, we did finally find that sign after getting out of the car a few times to read road signs and arrived at the ranch in time to go on the tour.  I have many pictures of Bernie enjoying trips to Fullerton, the Red Hat Headquarters, to "Menopause" Musical in LA, many eat-outs, making Santa's with all the ladies for Convalescent patients, going on a day trip to Catalina Island.  That trip I remember Bernie, Belva, & Annette playing cards (a tiny deck of cards) on the boat over and back.  Once we were invited to Bernie's Club House where we played Pictionary & other games & enjoyed another of our many potlucks.  Sometimes I attended & knew Bernie at the CCC's Dafy Groups and the Friday Senior Bible Studies.  My deep condolences go out to her family.  It was a blessing to know her and to have enjoyed her company through the years.   Carol Herrada, Lancaster
