Barry Darnell Campbell was raised in Los Angeles, California. He attended Henry Clay Jr. High and George Washington High School where he graduated early at the age of 16. Barry had an interest in acting and participating in a variety of plays at the Los Angeles Cultural Center. He went to college in the Sacramento area to specialize in Construction. Barry spent most of his adult life working in the field of construction where he supervised many large projects in the Los Angeles area. Barry was a lover of the oldies, songs by the Stylistics, the Delfonics, the Temptations and so on.
Barry Darnell Campbell was born to the union of Blanchard and Mamie Campbell on April 12, 1954. He was the 4th eldest of his 5 siblings. Blanchard, Mamie and his son Dexter preceded him in death.
A father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many, Barry was a loveable, trusted, dependable confidant, always there to listen, provide guidance and lend a helping hand. Barry was always full of laughter, joking and playing around every chance he got. Moreover, we all knew when Barry was around because he talked and laughed so loud.
Most importantly, Barry accepted the Lord at an early age at Phillips Temple CME Church. On December 19, 2022, Barry quietly and peacefully entered into the forever presence of God. Our family will cherish his memory and will uphold his legacy until we see him again.
Barry leaves to cherish his memory his daughter Melody, his stepdaughter Nakita Vaughn, his grandchildren Dexter Jr and Zaryah, his sister Shaucy Johnson (Blake), his brother Patrick Campbell (Kim), his nephew Patrick Campbell II (Sallie), his nieces Brittanie, Autumn and Monet Campbell and a host of great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends.
