On December 4, 1944, God entrusted Claude Hall and Lessie B. Hall with a beautiful and precious gift, in the form of a baby girl, Rosie Myrtle. The importance of family was instilled within her at a young age. She was lovingly called “Rose” by her family. She was educated in the public schools of Galveston and La Marque. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1963. Branching from a family of Christian love, Rosie confessed Christ at an early age and was baptized at her family church, Greater Barbour’s Chapel Baptist Church in Texas City where she served faithful for decades. Her melodious voice could be heard singing Zion’s songs in the choir and within the congregation. Rose encompassed the values of a noble woman. A servant of the Lord, she united with Greater Macedonia Baptist Church in Texas City, under the pastoral leadership of Rev. Robert Maxey, where she continued to use her voice to give God glory until her health declined and she was no longer able to attend services. She enjoyed cooking her famous “soul food” for her family and friends. Rose was a kind hearted and a compassionate person. Her big smile would warm your heart. She brought joy and laughter to those she encountered. The fragrance of her love and devotion to family and friends will be greatly missed. On Wednesday, August 16, 2017, Jesus came with His arms opened to welcome our beloved, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend, Rosie Myrtle Hall Henderson although her earthly work is complete, her work in heaven is only beginning. She is preceded in death by her parents, Claude Hall, Sr. and Lessie B. Hall; children, Malcolm Cunningham and baby Taylor; siblings, Lonnie Hall, Jr., and Michael Hall; grandchildren, Victtoria Sam and Jaliyah Bryant and other love ones. Her loving memory will always be cherish by her family, her loving and devoted children, Lillian “Precious” Henderson, Michelle Cunningham, Lessie Lacey and Dr. Nathan Cunningham (Kathryn); her brother, Rev. Freddie Hall; her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
