Mrs. Donnie Faye Baker-Jenkins

On September 29, 1949, God adorned this earth with wonderful presence of Donnie Faye Williams, born to Joseph Colton Williams and Selonia Hubbard Williams in Galveston, Texas. She was a beautiful gift entrusted to her parents. She grew up in La Marque, Texas. She embodied family values that she would carry throughout her life. As a youth with her family she attended Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church where she was baptized. She attended schools in La Marque, Texas and graduated from Lincoln High School with the Class of 1967. Faye as she was fondly called by her family and close friends. She attended Texas Women’s University in Denton, TX for Occupational Therapy then later attended Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN for Medical School where she obtained her BS degree. Donnie moved to back home to Texas in 1990 and began working as a therapist. She would meet who would become the love of her life and husband for 23 years, Gregory Keith Jenkins. They established roots in League City, Texas where they raised five children. Donnie worked for Ensign-Uniom as an Occupational Therapist (OTR), she was well known among staff and patients for her diligent service. In May of 2008, Donnie along with her husband and children united with Willing Workers Baptist Church where she became a faithful and dedicated member. She was a true servant of the Lord giving tireless service as President of the Pastor Support Ministry. She also served as an usher with the Sanctuary Services Department. She was a phenomenal woman with an extra ordinary spirit. Being with her family was her greatest joy she loved spending quality time with her children, grandchildren, siblings, nieces and nephews. On May 15, 2018 God choose to call his faithful servant home to receive her eternal life’s reward. She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Colton and Selonia Williams; her siblings, Gail Yvonne Williams, Verla Marie Vaughan and Joseph Wil-liams. Her beautiful memory will live on in the hearts of her family, loving and devoted husband, Gregory Jenkins; her children, Gregory Keith Jenkins, Jr., Shanay Knighton, Joshua Pruitt, Chantel Pruitt and Uriantae Knighton; grandchildren, George "Tyger" Howard, Christian McDonald, Cameron Loudres and Carter Jackson; her siblings, Will Johnson, Lucinda Briggs and Buford C. Williams, Sr.; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends
