Tom and I enjoyed taking communion to George when he moved to Ashton Parke.  He was truly a gentleman and always so appreciative of our visits.  He will be missed.

George started coming to St John’s shortly after we rebuilt the church next door to what is now Elmcroft Assisted Living Center.  He came to church every Sunday he was able. One of the nicest, most considerate people I’ve ever met, seeing George was always a highlight of my Sunday. At least now, God will have somebody to talk football with up in Heaven. Rest well, my friend.

My heart broke when I received the news of Mr. Parks passing.  He was a true gentleman and will be greatly missed by his St. John’s United Methodist Church family.  It was always an honor, and a pleasure, to serve him communion.  We would often share a chuckle in the parking lot when I would  ask him if he was winning the wheelchair race with Ms. Mary. 😊
May God wrap his loving arms around his family, and friends, and may He comfort them with peace now and in the days ahead.

George was a long time member of St. John's United Methodist Church in Texas City, TX .  He  was well known and loved by his church family.

My grandson Josh and I drove George (dressed in his favorite hat) to and from church on Sunday mornings.  He was always anxious to worship with all the others....singing the hymns, listening to the Bible readings and amazing sermons, taking part in Holy Communion and socializing  with his many fellow worshipers.   

Anyone who knew George, knew of his love of sports...in particular,  the Houston Rockets, the Astros and the Texans.  On the Sundays when there was an early game, he was "ready to go" as soon as the church let out!  😁. He could quote all kinds of stats!  He was a great man and will be sorely missed on earth but welcomed in God's Heavenly Kingdom.   RIP, George until we meet again.

I was saddened to hear that Mr. George passed away. My deepest condolences to his family.  He will be dearly missed.  George was a part of our St. John's UMC family for many years and was loved by many people.  He was always very kind, friendly and had a great sense of humor. RIP George until we meet again.
