MR. DAVID KIMBLE, patriarch of the Kimble Family of Galveston County, Texas passed into eternal life on February 1, 2012 at the age of 96 in Galveston, Texas. He was oldest son born to the union of Rev. Tennis and Rosa Lee Lewis Kimble on April 25, 1915 in Wharton, Texas. He received his formal education in Wharton County. At an early age he accepted Christ as his personal Savior and united with Grove Hill Baptist Church in El Campo, Texas. He continued his Christian journey by uniting with Greater Barbour's Chapel Baptist Church in Texas City where he attended services regularly until his health failed. He was a true servant serving in the Mass Choir and Male Chorus over 70 years. He was also a former member of Pride of Texas City Masonic Lodge #193 F&AM - Prince Hall Affiliation. Mr. Kimble met and married the love of his life, Mrs. Ethel Henderson, June 25, 1939. To this union ; five children were born. He was a devoted husband and father. He is preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Tennis and Rosa Lee Kimble; and wife, Ethel Henderson Kimble; son, David Jr and one other son; daughters, Flocie Kimble and Janice Kimble Britton; brothers Rev. M. J. Kimble, Joe Lois Kimble and Alex Kimble; sisters Lela Giles, Dorothy Robinson, and Lula Boykin. He loved his wife, children, and family and was always willing to give advice whenever and wherever needed. Many words come to mind when you think of Mr. David Kimbledependable, provider, confidant, dedicated, loyal and most of all A LOYAL FRIEND. Mr. Kimble was employed at Ten Smelter during World War II, then he moved to Ford Bacon and Davis and later transferred to Union Carbide Corp. He worked at Union Carbide Corp. in Texas City as a laborer for over 30 years until his retirement in 1980. Left to hold and cherish fond memories are a devoted son Darnald Kimble (Kelly) of Houston, Texas; three grandchildren; Joyce Britton, Los Angeles, California; Darnald Kimble, Jr. and Daphne Kimble of Houston, Texas; sister-in-laws, Pauline Henderson Williams and Darlene Henderson; brother-in-law, Roosevelt Henderson; a devoted niece, god-daughter and caregiver Joyce Naborne; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members, church members and friends. A special appreciation to Sonja Thorne, Clara Henderson, and Butch Henderson caregiver.
