Vincent J Caruso

Vincent Caruso, age 89, passed away on Friday May 13, 2011 at his residence in Lakewood, NJ.

Born and raised in Hoboken, NJ; Mr. Caruso lived in Hoboken for 59 years before moving to Lakewood 6 1/2 years ago.

Mr. Caruso worked for the United States Post Office for 31 years before opening his own Insurance Agency. He owned Caruso Insurance Inc; in Hoboken, NJ for 40 years, before retiring in 2008. He belonged to the Knights of Columbus Council 159, the American Legion Post 107, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the National Assoc. of Letter Carriers.

Pre-deceased by his son Vincent in 1991, his brother Nicholas and his Daughter-in-law Janet, he is survived by his loving wife Gertrude of 68 years, a daughter Jane Talerico and her husband John of Lakewood, NJ; his sister-in-law Joan Caruso of Hoboken, and many loving nieces and nephew.

Visitation will be held Monday May 16th from 3pm to 8pm at the Delia Funeral Home, Rt. 70 & Vermont Ave; Lakewood, NJ 08701. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday May 17th at 10:30 am, St, Mary of the Lake Church, 43 Madison Ave; Lakewood, NJ. Entombment will follow at St. Mary of the Lake Cemetery, Lakewood, NJ.
