Stephen John Nemets, 50, passed away June 21, 2018 at his home in New Brunswick, NJ. Stephen was born in West New York, NJ, raised in Ridgewood, NJ before settling in New Brunswick, NJ. He is a graduate of Rutgers University, where he obtained his bachelor’s degree. Stephen worked for the catering department of the Hyatt Regency in New Brunswick. He was an avid reader, dancer and competitive boggle player. Stephen was a loving son, brother and uncle and will be greatly missed by all, especially his friends and coworkers at the Hyatt Regency.
Stephen is predeceased by his grandparents, Alice Bird, Agnes Nemets and Stephen Nemets, aunt Anna Anastasi and uncles, Richard Anastasi, Vincent Bird and Stephen Nemets.
He is survived by his parents Andrew and Margaretta Nemets, siblings, Andrew Nemets and his wife Laura and Jennifer Kerr and her husband Brian, nieces, Allison Nemets and Makayla Kerr and nephews, Zachary Nemets and Ryan Nemets.
Memorial Service will be held on Friday, June 29, 2018 at 12 Noon at the St. Mary of the Lake Church 43 Madison Ave., Lakewood, NJ 08701. Cremation will be held privately. Arrangements are under the direction of the D’Elia Funeral Home 1300 Vermont Ave. Lakewood, NJ 08701.
