Richard Warren Engelhardt, age 88, formerly of Lakewood, NJ, and resident of Merritt Island, FL, passed away on June 19, 2020 at home. Richard was born in the Bronx. He was raised in Maywood, NJ and lived most of his life in Brooklyn, NY.
Richard was very proud to have served in the US Marine Corps at the time of the Korean War. He became a skilled Electrical Engineer and had a long and successful career with Con Edison in New York. Family, fishing and boating were the joys of his life.
Richard was widowed by his devoted wife, Marie R. Engelhardt in 2009, after 53 years together.
Richard is survived by his loving wife, Jo-Ann R.; his beloved sons, Richard and his wife Barbara, Michael and his wife Karen, Steven and his wife Sheri, and William and his wife Elizabeth; his 10 cherished grandchildren; his niece Valerie, and stepchildren, Margo Gillespie and Karen Rivera-Gorski.
Visitation will be held at a date to be set at the D'Elia Funeral Home, Route 70 and Vermont Ave., Lakewood, NJ 08701. Burial will follow at the family plot at St. Mary of the Lake Cemetery, Lakewood, NJ.
