Patrick Longo, 64, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, at Fountainview Care Center. He was born in Orange and moved to his current home in Howell, Ramtown specifically, at 2. He graduated from Howell High School and became a Union Carpenter, Red Bank Local 2250, which he did for most of his life. He loved his job among hundreds of other hobbies, talents, and interests. He loved fishing, riding his motorcycle, music, history, his softball and umpiring days, his bowling days, doing crossword puzzles- in pen. He had stories about every place you ever went to, and then he would know someone there when he took you. He was referred to as the “mayor” by many. He had interests and information to share in an endless array of topics, and could become a friend to anyone he wanted.
He is predeceased by his loving wife, Marianne, and parents Judy and George Buckwald and Peter Longo. He is survived by his children, Jade, Jake and Justin, and the love of his life, his “littlest daughter,” Kira, among hundreds of friends and loved ones. He was a remarkable person with a one-of-a-kind personality that could leave an impression anywhere he went.
Friends may call Wednesday, September 8th from 4-8pm at D’Elia Funeral Home on Vermont Ave and Rt. 70 in Lakewood, NJ 08701. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday, September 9th at 11AM at the D'Elia Funeral Home. Interment will be private at Ocean County Memorial Park in Toms River. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Jake, Justin, Jade, or the Spinal Cord Injury Association(USA.)
