Born in Vineland, he resided in Long Branch, Brick and Jackson before settling in Lakewood 2 and a half years ago.
Prior to retiring in 2006, he was a truck driver for Freehold Cartage, Inc.
When his children were growing up, Michael was a little league umpire in Jackson and also acted as a treasurer for the organization. He loved fishing and hunting, and working on cars – he was a mechanic by hobby. He was also an active member of the Herbertsville First Aid Squad from 1980-1983.
He is survived by his loving wife of over 47 years, Francine; 4 children: Dawn, Dave and his wife Jennifer, Mary and her husband Jeff, and Jon and his wife Elba; and 7 grandchildren: Kourtney, Joshua, Alex Sophia, Marie, Marc, Alexzander & Izakk.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00AM at D’Elia Funeral Home, Rte. 70 & Vermont Ave., Lakewood. Cremation will be private.
