Mary “May” Margaret Kelly, age 80, of Lakewood, NJ, passed away at her home on Saturday. May was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. She resided in Brooklyn, NY, Ramsey, NJ, and Dallas, TX before moving to the Fairways section of Lakewood over 13 years ago. May was a former parishioner of Mary Queen of Peace Church in Brooklyn, NY and a current member of St. Luke’s parish in Toms River, NJ. She was a member of the Eagle Ridge Golf Club. May is survived by her beloved husband of over 60 years, James M. Kelly; 4 children, Arlene Strano and her husband Fred of Buffalo, NY, James M. Jr. and his wife Karin of Ramsey, NJ, Patricia Taylor and her husband Robert of Midland Park, NJ, and Mary Kelly-Swafford and her husband Bert of New Orleans, LA; 2 brothers, John and Eugene Coogan; 7 grandchildren & 4 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Monday from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 p.m. at the D’Elia Funeral Home, 1300 Vermont Ave., Lakewood, NJ 08701. Her funeral mass will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Luke’s Church, 1674 Old Freehold Road, Toms River, NJ 08755. Cremation will be private.
