Marion Constance Jensen, 98, a long- time resident of Leisure Village, Lakewood, NJ, passed away on Sunday, October 21, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dan Jensen on October 1, 2018. She was born Marion Constance Stolk to Marie and Harry Stolk in New York City. She graduated high school and worked at a Singer Sewing Center in New Jersey where she met and married her boss, E. D. Samuels. They started their life together in Boston, MA, where he accepted a position of General Manager for the Ace Vacuum & Sewing Machine, Co. In 1952, E.D. opened his own store, Edsam Sales, Inc. in Teaneck, NJ, and they moved back to NJ joining a large extended family. She studied voice throughout her years and distinguished herself as a dramatic soprano. She sang with the Teaneck Chorus, Ridgewood Gilbert and Sullivan Opera Company, performed in many scholarship shows and church choirs. She was a longtime member of Church of the Savior Paramus, NJ and was a soloist there. She became a widow in 1978. She married Dan Jensen in 1990 and they began their exciting journey together in Leisure Village. Blended family as follows: daughter, Barbara Swann (Jack) of Hampstead, NC, son, David Samuels (Elizabeth) of Raleigh, NC, daughter, Danielle Jensen (Tommy) of NYC, daughter (deceased) Karen Jensen, son (deceased) Mark Samuels (La Verne) of Raleigh, NC. Grandchildren are David Scott (Paula) of Wilmington, NC, Darrin Scott (Melissa) of Wilmington, NC, Christopher Samuels (Acra) of Big Sky, Montana, Tim Samuels (Wendy) of Wilmington, NC, Mark Samuels of Raleigh, NC, Melanie Samuels of Raleigh, NC, Jennifer Samuels, of Raleigh, NC, Ashley Taylor (Will) of Raleigh, NC, Bogart Irizarry, of NYC, Danny Jensen, of NYC, Olivia Jensen, of NYC. Great grandchildren are Christina Scott, Kendall Scott, Victoria Scott, Abigail Scott, Brianna Samuels, Makayla Samuels, Chase Samuels, Holden Samuels, Austin Samuels, Lillian Samuels, Kaitlyn Samuels, Tyler Samuels, Kariana Barrios, Tyler Irizarry, Libby Hunt Taylor, Wyatt Taylor. She also is survived by numerous loving nieces and nephews. She was a long time member of St. Thomas church, in Brick, NJ and sang in the choir and was often a soloist.
