Marie Agnes Kelleher, of Lakewood, New Jersey passed away on Friday, June 15, 2018 at the Community Medical Center in Toms River, NJ. Marie was born May 30, 1934 in Jersey City, NJ., and she was the daughter of the late Michael and Kathleen (Kelly) Kelleher.
Marie was raised and was a longtime resident of Jersey City, NJ. She later resided in North Bergen, and the Lake Ridge section of Toms River before moving to Leisure Park seven years ago.
Marie retired as an Assistant Principal after 38 years as a professional educator with the Jersey City Public School System. She was a member of the Catholic Teachers Society of Northern New Jersey and the Ridgewood Camera Club. Marie enjoyed painting and was a photography enthusiast. She received a Master's Degree after attending Seton Hall University, Jersey City State Teachers College, and St. Elizabeth's College Convent Station. She will be dearly missed by her many friends, family members, and fellow associates.
Marie is survived by; brother Dennis Kelleher and his wife Philomena; and a sister Anne Blair and her husband Kenneth; a dear friend, Patti Beider; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be Sunday, June 17, 2018 from 1 to 5 p.m. at the D'Elia Funeral Home, 1300 Vermont Avenue, Lakewood, NJ 08701. Her funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 18, 2018, at St. Luke's Church, 1674 Old Freehold, NJ 08755. Burial will follow in Holy Name Cemetery, Jersey City, NJ.
