Maria Lopez de Velazquez, age 93, of Lakewood, New Jersey, passed away on Friday, May 22, 2020 at the Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus in Lakewood New Jersey. Maria was born on June 17, 1926 in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico. She worked in the processing of tobacco leaves earlier in her lifetime, and later as a devoted homemaker to her husband and family.
Wife of the late Alberto Velazquez Lozada, she is survived by their children, Josefina and William; their grandson, Bill Torres and his wife Betty; her brothers Juan and Benito Lopez; a sister, Milagros Lopez; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a great-granddaughter Shealyn Marie.
Due to the COVID19 pandemic, all arrangements are private. She was laid to rest with her husband in the St. Mary of the Lake Cemetery in Lakewood, NJ.
