Margaret Flynn, 79, passed away on February 4th, 2022 with her family at her side. Beloved wife of Michael Gerard Flynn of 54 years. Cherished daughter of the late Elizabeth and Thomas Fox, Sr. Devoted Mother of Siobhan Higgins (Michael Higgins), Brendan Flynn (Robin Flynn), Michael Flynn, Jr. & Maureen Graham (Sean Graham). Dear sister of Rosaleen Yore, Maura Reddy, the late Thomas Fox, Jr., the late Phillip Fox, Kathleen Smyth, the late Sean Fox, the late Frances Slevin, Ann White, Sheila Marmion, Gertrude Carolan & Martin Fox. Loving grandmother of 9 grandchildren: Mairead Higgins, Michael James Higgins, Tara Higgins, Aidan Graham, Catherine “Katie” Graham, Kieran Flynn, Clare Flynn, Sean Flynn & Ignatius Flynn. Margaret was born in Co. Meath, Ireland & immigrated to the United States in 1964. Settling in Fresh Meadows, Queens NY, where she and her husband raised their family. At the time of the demise of the dearly departed, she resided in Toms River, NJ for almost 20 years. Given her training in the hospitality industry, Margaret loved hosting, cooking and baking for friends and family. She was often seen in her community enjoying a leisurely walk or playing tennis with her beloved husband, Michael. She devoted much of her time to her family, especially caring and doting over her many grandchildren and visiting her extended family in Ireland. She was a woman of strong faith and graciously served the Catholic community as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion. The most important thing to her was the health and happiness of her family and those around her. Her Wake will take place at D’Elia Funeral Home, Rt 70 & Vermont Ave, Lakewood, NJ 080701 on Tuesday, February 8th, 2022 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Luke’s Roman Catholic Church, 1674 Old Freehold Rd, Toms River, NJ 08755 on Wednesday, February 9th, 2022 at 10:30 am. Memorial contributions can be made in her name to the St Vincent DePaul Society (https://ssvpusa.org) in lieu of flowers.
