Lydia DiGioia

Lydia was born on November 14, 1934 in Sant' Andrea della Ionio, Italy to Andrea Mongiardo and Concetta Codispoti Mongiardo, and immigrated to the United States when she was 3 years old. She grew up in Brooklyn, New York with her brothers Dante and Remo and her sister Antionette, and received a Bachelor's Degree from The City College of New York. She met her beloved husband Larry DiGioia at a church dance in New York City and they remained by each other's side for 65 years. Together they had two children, Laura and Lawrence.

Lydia was a devoted mother to Laura DiGioia Stiles of Hillsdale New Jersey and Lawrence DiGioia Jr of Sherman Oaks California. She took special joy in visiting with her grandchildren, Julian and Delia Stiles.

Lydia was preceded in death by her son Lawrence DiGioia Jr and is survived by husband Larry DiGioia, daughter Laura DiGioia Stiles, sister Antionette Mongiardo, daughter-in-law Charmaine LaQuesta DiGioia, son-in-law Baird Stiles and grandchildren, Julian and Delia Stiles who will never forget the love she brought to their lives.

A visitation for Lydia will be held Sunday, July 14, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at D'Elia Funeral Home,1300 Vermont Ave, Lakewood, NJ 08701.

A Funeral Mass will occur Monday, July 15th at 10:30 AM at St. Mary of the Lake, located at 43 Madison Ave, Lakewood, NJ 08701.

Interment will follow at 12:30 PM at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery, 350 Province Line Rd, Wrightstown, NJ 08562.

Donations to St Jude Children's Research Hospital in her name are appreciated.
