Lois was born and raised in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. Together with her husband, Lois raised her family in Old Bridge, New Jersey, and for the last thirty-five years, she spent the majority of her time at her beloved lakeside cabin in Saranac Lake, New York.
Lois is predeceased by her parents, Lowther and Isabel (Cook) Brown, her dear aunt, Anne "Vietch" (Cook) Hayes, and the love of her life, John Bell. Lois loved to reflect on and discuss the once-in-a-lifetime love that she and John shared and it is comforting for her family to know that they are finally together again.
Lois is survived by her children: Thomas "Tim" and Susan Bell, Pam (Bell) and Glen Borgert, and her grandchildren: Ryan, Jeff, Meg, Sean, Josh, Jason, and Scotty.
Lois was a devoted dog mom, an excellent cook, a book worm, and a true lover of the lake. Nothing brought Lois more joy than being able to share her love of the Adirondacks with her family and friends, particularly the sound of the loons and the sights of the hummingbirds swarming the feeders on her deck. She loved playing boardgames with her grandchildren and eating Donnelly's ice cream or enjoying s'mores by the fire, especially when accompanied by acoustic music performed by Pam and Glen. She was notorious for feeding her great-granddog food he should not have been given and was never afraid to speak her mind. She was adored by anyone who had the pleasure of knowing her and will be dearly missed by all of us.
Private services are under the direction of the D'Elia Funeral Home.
