Lawrence G. "Larry" Patterson

Lawrence G. "Larry" Patterson, age 68, of Lakewood, New Jersey passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 after a sudden illness at the Ocean Medical Center in Brick, NJ. Larry was born in Lakewood, New Jersey and was a life-long resident.

Larry, along with his elder brothers, was a member of the Lakewood Police Department, retiring as Sergeant in 2010 after nearly 30 years of service. He was a member of the Lakewood Hook & Ladder Volunteer Fire Department. Larry was a beloved patron of the Regent Diner.

Larry is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Karen Patterson; his children, Robert Patterson and his wife Erin; and Katie Patterson; a brother, Howard Patterson and his wife Pat; a sister, Barbara Emkin; a sister-in-law, Teresa Patterson; two grandchildren, Ethan and Carter Patterson; and several nieces and nephews. Larry was preceded in death by a brother Ronald Patterson.

Relatives and friends will be received on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the D'Elia Funeral Home, 1300 Vermont Avenue, Lakewood, NJ 08701. Participation from the Police Department and Fire Department during the visiting hours is anticipated. His children will offer remarks to close out the evening at 7:45 p.m.
