Born in the Bronx to Joseph A., Sr. and Grace Lullo, Joe grew up in Maspeth, Queens, and New York City.
Joseph proudly served in the US Air Force from 1951-1955 and was stationed at Andrews Air Force Base and Fairbanks, Alaska.
An Executive Chauffeur for the General Motors Corp., he retired in 1991 and moved to Leisure Village East. Joseph was known for his love of cars and traveling, having cruised to many parts of the world.
He was predeceased by his parents; a brother, William; and a nephew, Michael.
Surviving is his wife of 51 years, Carole (nee Marotta); a brother, Robert and his wife Audrey; a sister, Grace Wojcik and her husband Anthony; a sister-in-law, Joan Gladitsch; a brother-in-law, David A. Marotta and his wife Cookie (Lillian); a niece, Joan McNamara and her husband Thomas; 2 nephews: William Gladitsch and his wife Catherine, and David J. Marotta and his wife Sandra; and many more nieces and nephews.
Memorial visitation will be held on Sunday from 2-6PM at D’Elia Funeral Home, 1300 Vermont Ave., Lakewood. A memorial service will be held on Monday at the Brigadier Gen. William C.
