Joseph F. Cullen, 73, passed away May 3, 2014 at Kimball Medical Center in Lakewood. Mr. Cullen was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY before moving to Staten Island for many years with his wife Rosalie, before settling in Lakewood for the past 15 years. He worked for Merrill Lynch for many years as an operations manager. He also played minor league baseball for both the Dodgers and Yankees. Joseph was an avid bowler and loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother and will be greatly missed by all.
Mr. Cullen is survived by his wife of 50 years Rosalie, children, Michael Cullen, Joanne Capuana and her husband Chris, and Susan Bujnowski and her husband Tim, grandchildren, Zachary, Jeanine, Jason, Christopher, Lexi, Lauren, Ava and Thomas, sister, Maureen Roberti, brother-in-law, Anthony Perrone and his wife Rose and sister-in-law, Sara Perrone.
Friends may call Tuesday, May 6, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the D’Elia Funeral Home Rt. 70 & Vermont Ave. Lakewood, NJ. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary of the Lake Church in Lakewood on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at 10:30am. Interment will follow at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veteran’s Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ.
