John "Jay" Joseph Zuza, age 54, of Butler, NJ, passed away on Thursday August 16, 2018 at the Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune, NJ. John was born February 3, 1964 in Carlstadt, NJ. He was a former resident of Wyckoff, NJ before moving to Butler. John is a graduate of Rutgers University. John was a Respiratory Therapist, and had worked at the Silver Lake Nursing Home in Staten Island, NY. He loved spending time with his family. John enjoyed boating, fishing and crabbing. Following in his father's footsteps, he loved to cook.
Son of the late Dorothy Zuza; brother of the late Christopher Zuza; John is survived by his father John Zuza; sister-in-law Eileen, a sister Melissa Linton and her husband Robert Linton; an aunt Agnes; two nephews, Jake and James; and his cousins, Brook, Diane, Hannah, Jay, Julia, Lucas, Megan, Mike, Robin, Valerie and Zach.
Relatives and friends will be received from 1-3 p.m. until the time of the ceremony at the funeral home.
His life will be celebrated with a memorial service at 3 p.m. on Sunday, August 26, 2018 at the D'Elia Funeral Home, 1300 Vermont Avenue, Lakewood, NJ 08701.
