John Donohue, age 79, of the Greenbriar Woodlands Community in Toms River, NJ, passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2013 at the Ocean Medical Center in Brick, NJ. He was born on August 18, 1933 in Manhattan, NY, and was the son of the late Patrick and Catherine Donohue. Mr. Donohue was a former resident of Wayne, NJ, Lake Hopatcong, NJ, Lake Grove, LI-NY, and Copigue, LI-NY before moving to Toms River in 1994. John enjoyed boating and was an avid fisherman. He was a motorcycling enthusiast and loved spending time with his dogs. Father of the late Michael and Robert Donohue, he was predeceased by his grandchild Kristen. John is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Arlene (Krohn) Donohue; 2 children, John P. Donohue and his wife Robin of Stockholm, NJ and Diane Ramm of Jackson, NJ; 9 grandchildren, Lauren, Kelsi, Teresa, Dana, Ashley, Michael, Kristy, Brielle, and Robert; 11 great-grandchildren with a 12th expected, Kristen, Gwen, Christopher, Brianna, Robert, Danielle, Joseph, Maddy, Alex, Aubrey, Amy and Arley on the way. Vistation will be Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 3010 Ridgeway Road, Manchester, NJ 08701. An evening prayer service will be held in the funeral home at 8:30 p.m. Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday in the North Hardyston Cemetery, North Church Road, Hamburg, NJ 07419. Arrangements are under the direction of the D’Elia Funeral Home of Lakewood, NJ.
