Hans is survived by his loving Wife; Ivy Jean Ullmer, his dear Daughter; Veronika Ullmer and his beloved Grandchildren; Olivia Elliott & Annabel Beatrix Caime; and son-in-law, John Caime.
Hans was born in Heppdiel, Germany to the late Leo and Lydia Ullmer and is predeceased by his daughter; Melissa Irmgard Ullmer, and five brothers and sisters.
Hans emigrated to Toronto, Canada where he met his wife, Jean, and together they moved to Staten Island, New York, where they raised their family and Hans owned his business for over 30 years.
Hans was happiest anywhere outdoors especially in his garden. He was an expert skier - a sport he shared with his family who spent many years at their home in Vermont. He was very creative and could build anything he set his mind to (large or small). He became a very talented woodworker in his retirement and would delight in creating handmade gifts for anyone lucky enough to receive one.
Hans will forever be remembered as being the backbone of his family and for his incredible sense of humor and adventure. His family will always cherish their extensive travels and all the laughs they shared together. Hans was a true original — his stories and lifetime worth of tales were second to none. He appreciated life to the fullest and could not have been more loved by his family.
A visitation for Hans will be held Tuesday, November 7, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at D'Elia Funeral Home,1300 Vermont Ave, Lakewood, NJ 08701, followed by a Funeral service starting at 5:00pm at D'Elia Funeral Home.
