

Georgina was born in Jayuya, Puerto Rico and moved to the States with her three daughters in the early 1970’s. She graduated from Mercy College and worked as a microbiologist until her retirement from Bellevue Hospital. Georgina’s favorite things were spending time with family and friends, crocheting for her great grandchildren, visiting Atlantic City and volunteering at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish.
Georgina's legacy is carried on by her loving family. She is survived by her daughters, Rosa Garcia and her husband Luis Garcia of Fleming Island, Florida, Arlene Gonzalez-Pagan and her husband Fernando Pagan of Port Chester, NY, and her late daughter’s husband, Jorge Ortiz. Her memory will be cherished by her grandchildren Brian Torres and his wife Rachel, Christina Mack and her husband Jared, George Ortiz, Andrew Ortiz, Adriana Ortiz, and Lorenzo Garcia, and her great-grandchildren, Giuliana and Derek Torres, and Riley and Avery Mack. Her sister, Aurea Rivera, also survives her, sharing in the loss of this remarkable woman.
