George C. Rusciano, 92, passed away September 13, 2017, at Ocean Medical Center in Brick, NJ. Mr. Rusciano was born and raised in Elizabeth, NJ before moving to Ocean County and lived in North Carolina for 10 years before settling in Lakewood during the past year. He served in the US Army Air Force during World War II as a Staff Sergeant for the 9th Air Defense Command. George worked as a purchasing agent for Airborne in Union, NJ, and Victory Engineering in Springfield, NJ before retiring from Unisys in Union County. He served as a trustee for St. Anthony of Padua Church in Elizabeth for many years. He was also a member of the Elizabeth VFW and Elizabeth Elks Club. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle and will be greatly missed by all. Mr. Rusciano is predeceased by his daughter, Dolores Stach; parents, Charles and Mary Rusciano; sister, Marie Rusciano; and brothers Joseph and Sylvester. George is survived by his wife of 71 years, Carmela; daughters Janis Cox and Georgia Grant; grandchildren, Heather Martin, Kerry Cox, AJ Grant, and Taylor Grant; great-granddaughter Emmeline Martin; sister Constance Rusciano; and nephew Robert Rusciano. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 17, 2017, from 2-5PM at the D’Elia Funeral Home, 1300 Vermont Ave., Lakewood, NJ 08701. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, September 18, 2017, at 10 AM at the St. Dominic Church, Brick. Entombment will take place at Fairview Cemetery in Westfield, NJ.
