Gary Granger 63, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2022 with his beloved girls by his side. Gary leaves behind his loving and devoted wife of 30 years, Carol, his daughter Kayla, daughter Kim and her fiancé’ Jeff Gonnello. He leaves behind his loving Mother, Margaret Granger and his four siblings Robert, Jack, Rick and Susan and their spouses. Gary was welcomed into Heaven by his Nana, O-Peg, his Mother and Father-in-law, who loved Gary like their own.
Gary was born in Bloomfield on March 6, 1959 and lived there until 1991 when he moved down the shore. Gary worked for the State of New Jersey as a Fleet Manager for 26 years then onto to Costco where he worked for another 16 years.
Gary loved being a father and a husband more than anything in the world. He would do anything for his girls and always said that the greatest pleasure in his life was being a dad. He had a big heart and would go to the ends of the earth for the ones he loved. When he wasn’t spending time with his family playing games, scratching off lottery tickets and cracking jokes, Gary enjoyed going fishing on the Gambler, crabbing at his favorite spot, Trader’s Cover and watching football. Gary was a devoted Giants fan but he would be the first to admit that the Giants ‘stink’. He also loved to cook and enjoyed making many delicious meals for his family. If he knew you liked a certain food, he would make it for you every time he saw you and buy multiples of the food you liked just to put a smile on your face. Gary was a selfless and kind man who was great to the people who were good to him and to his girls.
Gary fought a hard battle with pancreatic cancer, which he was diagnosed with in May of this year. Despite the pain and the struggles, he still did all he could to look out for his family and make sure they were happy. He never wanted anyone to worry about him and spent his life caring for his loved ones around him. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Pancreatic Cancer research in his honor.
