Growing up, Courtney loved playing basketball and being coached by her father in youth sports. She loved watching Mets games with her family, so much so that she could name every single player while watching the games on TV. Always the chatterbox and with a smile for everyone, Courtney was adored by her friends and neighbors. She was always the go-to kid for the neighborhood scoop, earning her the nickname "Radio".
If you knew Courtney, you know how much she loved her Nikes, and wearing matching pairs with her son, Armani. Armani was her entire world and the biggest reason for her smile. The two of them shared an inseparable bond, one that only a mother and son could have. They always took the silliest of photos together, something that will always be a reminder of how close they were.
Courtney also enjoyed caring for the elderly and was proud to have achieved her CNA certification. Courtney’s kindness and warmth cannot be overstated; her smile and infectious laughter could brighten anyone’s day. She will be missed beyond words and will live in our hearts forever and as Armani’s guardian angel.
She is survived by her beautiful son Armani, her mother Jennifer Smith, her father Lee Smith, grandmother Joan “Meems” Clarke, brothers Brian and Nolan Smith, aunts Lisa Smith, Susan Colatrella and her husband Peter, uncles Mark Smith and Robert Clarke, cousins Lauren and husband Mike McCarrick, Jessica Alpert and fiancé Erik Nivison, Erica and husband Angelo Palma, Teresa, Joseph, and Catherine Deluca. She is predeceased by paternal grandparents Donald and Doris Smith, maternal grandfather Harold Clarke, aunt Connie Smith, uncles Jeff and Alan Clarke, and cousin Mary Elizabeth DeLuca. In lieu of flowers, the family has set up a Go Fund Me benefitting her son Armani and to offset funeral costs. Donations can be made by clicking the following link:
