Catherine M. Spagnolo

Catherine M. Spagnolo, 73, passed away June 26, 2015 at her home in Lakewood. Mrs. Spagnolo was born and raised in the Bronx before moving to Germany for a brief period and finally settling in Ocean County for the past 40 years. Catherine worked for various businesses in the ocean county area as a secretary for many years, St. Mark’s Church and Blair and Associates to name a few. She served as a Eucharistic Minister for St. Mary of the Lake Church and she enjoyed vacationing and taking cruises. Catherine was an avid patron of Starbucks and loved their Frappuccinos. She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister and will be greatly missed by all. Mrs. Spagnolo is predeceased by her husband John. Catherine is survived by her three children, Mary Massaro and her husband Tom, Anne Burr and her husband Kirk, and John Spagnolo and his wife Cidalia, five grandchildren, Emily, Max, Morgan, Abby, and Cullen, brother, John Rywalt and two sisters, Patricia Irvine and Elaine O’Rourke. Arrangements are under the direction of the D’Elia Funeral Home 1300 Vermont Ave. Lakewood, NJ 08701. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at 12 Noon at the St. Mary of the Lake Church in Lakewood. Interment will take place at St. Mary of the Lake Cemetery in Lakewood. In lieu of flowers please make donations in Catherine’s memory to the American Cancer Society.
