Carl Klein

He was a lifelong resident of Lakewood and graduated from Lakewood High School in 1957. Most recently, he settled in the Four Seasons community with his wife, Joan 20 years ago.

After high school, Carl went on to study at Trenton State and Monmouth College. After working in a few car dealerships, Carl opened up J & C Auto Inc. in Brick, NJ in 1980. He was involved in the business for the rest of his life.

Carl loved to play cards in his community and collected stamps since the age of 9. He was an avid golfer, having been awarded the title of State Champion in Lakewood and Assistant Pro at the Manasquan Country Club. Carl also loved NASCAR and was the very first Eagle Scout in Jackson, NJ.

Surviving is his loving wife of 35 years, Joan; a son: Hugh Klein; 3 stepchildren: George Kahrs, Jodi Lee Kahrs, and Lisann Geary; 2 grandchildren: Bradley Larsen and Victoria Yarrow; a brother, Norman Klein; and other extended family members.

A visitation will be held at D’Elia Funeral Home, 1300 Vermont Ave., Lakewood on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9PM.
