Barbara Halle Colabroy

Barbara Colabroy, age 80, of Lakewood, passed away Friday at the Community Medical Center in Toms River, NJ. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she moved to Staten Island with her family at 5 years of age. She was a longtime resident of the Huguenot section of Staten Island before relocating to Lakewood 8 years ago. She also previously lived in Port St. Lucie, FL. Mrs. Colabroy was formerly employed by Chase Manhattan Bank for 31 years. Daughter of the late Evelyn (Davis) and Cornelius Richard Halle, mother of the late Daniel Colabroy; and sister of the late Jean Corapi, she is survived by her children, John Colabroy and Joyce Newman; seven grandchildren, Jacqueline Birkes, Keri Colabroy Whitmire, Jill colabroy Rasmussen, Robert Newman, Danielle Colabroy, Kathryn Colabroy-Foulke, and Kimberly Colabroy; and 3 great grandchildren. Visitation will be Monday from 5 to 9 p.m. at the D’Elia Funeral Home, Rte. 70 & Vermont Ave., Lakewood, NJ 08701. Interment will be private in the Oceanview Cemetery, Staten Island, NY.
