Anthony N. Ficarra

Anthony N. Ficarra, 84, son of Anthony and Angelina Ficarra, passed away July 10, 2015 at Ocean Medical Center in Brick, NJ. Mr. Ficarra was born and raised in Ridgewood, Queens before moving to Westwood, NJ where he raised his family and finally settling in Toms River for the past 18 years. He was a graduate of the Grover Cleveland High School and attended Agricultural School in Farmingdale, NY. Anthony served with the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked for the New York Telephone Company for over 30 years. Mr. Ficarra also served as a volunteer for St. Andrews Church and St. Luke’s Church as an usher. He was a member of the Lake Ridge Italian Cultural Club and the Men’s Club. Anthony was an avid golfer, bird watcher and was a dedicated and positive family man. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed by all. Mr. Ficarra is predeceased by his daughter Victoria Ficarra. Anthony is survived by his wife of 24 years, Elinor, brother, Vincent James, children, Christine Lyons and her husband James and Bernadette Morello and her husband James, step children, Teresa Ryan and husband Mike, Tina Pertot and her husband George and Thomas Henry DeSiena and his wife Kimberly, grandchildren, Elyse, Rachel, Katie, Michele, Michael, Everett and Emerson and a host of many other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the D’Elia Funeral Home 1300 Vermont Ave. Lakewood, NJ 08701. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, July 17, 2015 at 9:15AM at the St. Luke’s Church in Toms River. Entombment will take place at St. Mary of the Lake Cemetery in Lakewood.
