August 22, 1937 – February 13, 2025
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert “Bob” V. Sanchez, of Denver, Colorado, who passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 13th, 2025, at the age of 87.
Bob was born on August 22, 1937, in Alamosa, Colorado, to George and Laura (Duran) Sanchez. As the third of five children, he was raised with a deep sense of family, and his love for his siblings and parents remained a cornerstone of his life.
After graduating from Denver South High School in 1955, Bob dedicated his career to electronics, working as an Electronics Tester at Martin Marietta for many years. His work was a reflection of his precision and keen attention to detail, qualities that he carried into every aspect of his life.
Bob was a devoted member of the Knights of Columbus, where he found camaraderie and purpose in his service to the community. He had a generous spirit, and his faith was a guiding force throughout his life.
Preceding Bob in death were his beloved parents, George (1998) and Laura (2007), his brothers David (2023) and Michael (2018), his son James (2020), and his grandson Anthony (2022). Their absence leaves a hole in our hearts, but we take comfort in knowing they are now together.
Bob is survived by his former wife, Lola Sanchez, and his three sons, Chris (Jody), Dan (Maria), and Robert (Michelle as well as his brother, Richard (Anita) and sister Georgiana Graham (Jonathan). He was a dedicated father who found immense joy in his children and was proud of their accomplishments. Bob’s legacy lives on through them and his many cherished grandchildren.
At the age of 55, Bob retired early to devote time to caring for his parents, demonstrating the love and commitment that was central to his character. His quiet strength, patience, and ability to nurture those around him were qualities that made him a loving father, friend, and member of the community.
Bob’s passing leaves a void that will be felt deeply by all who knew him. His gentle spirit, humor, and unwavering love for his family and friends will be forever remembered.
A private family service will be held in his honor. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Knights of Columbus or a charity of your choice.
Rest in peace, Bob. You are deeply loved and will be missed more than words can express.
