Juanita "Jane" Arellano

Juanita was born on February 4, 1931 in Monte Vista, Colorado to parents Max and Bertha Atencio. While raising her 3 children, she returned to school to earn her high school diploma, and she and her husband were involved with making improvments in their community. Later in life, Juanita was very active in her church and found great joy in volunteering at church programs and events. She also loved spending time with her friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Robert J. Arellano. She is survived by her sister Julie Martinez, her children Rosemarie McDougall, Lawrence Arellano and Max Arellano, her eleven grandchildren and her eight great-grandchildren.

The family would love to receive friends and family on Friday, August 26, 2016 at Advantage Runyan Stevenson Chapel, which is located at 6425 W. Alameda Ave. Lakewood, CO 80226. The viewing will begin at 10am and services at 11am. The burial will take place at 1pm at Mount Olivet Cemetary, located at 12801 W. 44th Ave. Wheat Ridge, CO 80033. A reception will follow at 2:30pm at Verle Huffman VFW Post 9644, located at 2680 W. Hampden Ave. Englewood, CO 80110. *No alcohol or drinking will be permitted or tolerated.*
