Frank passed away July 11, 2013. Frank is survived by Sarah (Elmer) Barela, Ramona (Lawrence) Martinez, 6 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Mass of christian burial to be held at Presentation of Our Lady, 695 Irving St., Wed., July 17, 2013 with interment to follow at Fort Logan National Cemetery in honor of Frank's service in WWII.

Following the service Frank Manzanares will be laid to rest at Fort Logan National Cemetery. The family in-vites you to a reception at Presentation of Our Lady School gymnasium immediately following services at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
Obituary
Frank Manzanares was born in Alamosa, Colorado to Joaquin Manzanares and Sara Lucero Manzanares on February 28, 1918. He was the youngest of nine children. Frank is a fourth generation Coloradan.
On November 11, 1940 Frank married Louise Trujillo. Frank and Louise loved to attend local dances. They made their home in Alamosa until August 14, 1942, when Frank was drafted into the Army and served his country during World War II until his honorable discharge on Octo-ber 26, 1945. Frank achieved the rank of Sergeant. After his discharge from the Army, Frank purchased a home in Denver, Colorado in 1943. Frank and Louise raised their two daughters, Sarah and Ramona in Denver. Frank and Louise celebrated their 50th and 60th wedding anniver-saries. They lived together until Louise passed away on December 19, 2009.
Frank's occupation was a Meat Cutter. He worked most of his adult life at the Loop Meat Market in downtown Denver. For recreation he would go to the local pool hall. After he retired he joined the Barnum Pool Team. He won the state championship for the Barnum Senior Center. He was an avid bowler and bowled until the age of 90. Frank loved to go fish-ing on his days off and always caught his limit.
As an active member of the Catholic Church, Frank be-came a 4th degree Grand Knight. He served his Knights of Columbus Council for eight years
Frank’s true passion in life was his family. Frank showered his entire family with love and generosity. After raising their own children, Frank and Louise dedicated their life to helping raise their grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Frank has six grandchildren: Lawrence (Michele), Lynette, Laura (Bernard), Eric, Leonard (Cynthia), Kristine, seven great-grandchildren: Joelle (Jason), Andre, Brandon, Dan-te, Adrianna, Christopher, Braden and two (twins) great-great grandchildren: Isabella, and Mateo. Frank’s life spanned eight generations in the State of Colorado.
